What sizes are available for solar panels?

Solar panels are usually measured by their wattage, indicating the amount of electrical power they can generate under standard test conditions (STC). Typical solar panels range in size from approximately 15 square feet (1.4 square meters) to 24 square feet (2.2 square meters).
Will my solar power system generate energy when there's no sunlight?
Solar panels primarily generate energy when exposed to sunlight, but they can still produce some electricity during cloudy days, early morning, late evening, and even in moonlight, although at significantly reduced rates. However, their output is minimal during nighttime or in complete darkness.

What is an Off-Grid solar system?
Off-Grid Solar Power System operates independently of the grid, equipped with batteries that store the solar power generated by the system.
What is an On-Grid solar system?
On-Grid Solar Power System is a solar power generation system connected to the utility grid. The electricity produced by the system is routed to the grid, where it is used to power various appliances.
Are there maintenance costs associated with solar panels?
No maintenance is required as there are no moving parts. However, we recommend an Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) for projects exceeding 100 kW, which would be approximately 2% of the project cost annually. For solar plants below 100 kW, we can provide training for your personnel on how to clean the solar panels.

Will my solar panels continue to operate during power outages or load shedding?
Solar panels alone do not supply electricity during load shedding or power outages as they are designed to shut down for safety reasons. However, when combined with an energy storage solution such as batteries, solar panels can provide backup power. During daylight hours, the panels generate electricity, which is stored in the batteries. When the grid goes down, the stored energy can be utilized to power your home or essential appliances, ensuring reliable electricity during load shedding or outages. It is crucial to install a compatible battery system for this purpose.
What is captive use in the context of solar energy?
Captive use refers to the utilization of solar panels for generating electricity onsite, directly powering the property or business. This approach provides cost savings, energy independence, and environmental benefits by reducing dependence on external grid power and utilizing renewable energy sources for internal needs.

It depends on your monthly unit consumption. For example, if you consume 10,000 units in a month, then you require a 90 kW solar plant to make your electricity bill zero, considering 3.67 units per kW generation on a conservative side.
Are solar panels operational and efficient during rainy seasons?
During the rainy season, solar panels continue to generate electricity, but their efficiency is reduced due to decreased sunlight. Cloud cover and rain limit direct sunlight, affecting the performance of solar panels.
Can solar panels produce electricity during nighttime?
Solar will not work at night as it generates electricity during the daytime only.
What is the weight of solar panels?

Is a battery necessary for my solar system?
We recommend an on-grid system for industrial users because an off-grid system with batteries can significantly impact your financial viability, leading to a higher breakeven point and lower Internal Rate of Return (IRR).
How long does the installation process take?
Generally, a 100kW solar installation takes about 2 months. The duration of the solar panel installation process can vary but typically spans a few months. The initial stages, including site assessment, design, and permitting, may take a few weeks to a couple of months. Equipment procurement usually takes a few weeks. The actual installation itself spans a few days to a couple of weeks, followed by inspection and interconnection, which might take an additional few weeks. Finally, testing, commissioning, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance are conducted to ensure the system’s efficiency and longevity. The overall timeline can be influenced by factors such as system size, local regulations, and weather conditions.
What is the maintenance cost and frequency for solar systems?
If the project size is small, there is no maintenance cost involved. You simply need to clean your panels twice a week. However, we also offer cleaning services, and if you’re interested, we can provide you with a quotation.
